Today is the last day of the “Keith Cretchley Netbal Tournament” arranged by Sport at Backward Point.   What an incredible 3 days.  The girls must be very tired as they have been playing 4 to 5 matches per day and yesterday almost rained out!

In 2007 Keith Cretchley was presented with a Knysna Loerie Award for Community Contributor of the year in the category for sport, and more recently, the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International bestowed upon him their highest accolade of the Paul Harris Fellow Award ‘in appreciation of tangible and significant assistance given for the furtherance of better understanding and friendly relations among peoples of the world’.

Keith’s sporting achievements from his youth till today include having played representative sport at various levels in cricket, rugby, golf, squash, and athletics. He is an avid angler in his spare time and was awarded Springbok colours for competition surf-casting. More recently he has been contributing through sports administration at Club, Provincial and National level in a number of sporting disciplines. His love and enthusiasm of dealing with children is one of his strongest attributes.

Well done Sport at Backward Point for arranging this amazing tournament and for introducing some of these young players to Knysna.  We are sure they will tell all their friends and parents about this amazing little town of ours!
